Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Tester
Location: Alberta (Edmonton or Calgary Hybrid - 1 day onsite per week)
Type: Contract (12 Months)

The Position:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Tester to support end‑to‑end testing activities for enterprise systems, with a focus on FINEOS. This role involves planning, executing, and documenting testing efforts across multiple projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, deep testing expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

Quality Assurance & Test Planning

• Estimate test tasks and prepare timelines for testing cycles.
• Identify schedule or project challenges and propose mitigation strategies.
• Review use cases, user stories, design documentation, and non-functional requirements.
• Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Maintain full traceability of test cases to requirements.

Test Execution & Reporting

• Develop and execute automated test scripts and data loading scripts.
• Schedule and coordinate testing efforts across multi-user, multi-project environments.
• Execute test cases, document results, and collaborate with development teams on defects.
• Retest resolved defects, track trends, and report metrics to sponsors and PMs.
• Compile results and prepare formal test summary reports.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Prepare detailed documentation including test outcomes, specifications, and defect logs.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to maintain solution quality.
• Support continuous improvement in test practices and methodologies.

Mandatories:

• Related technical degree or diploma.
• 5+ years experience developing test cases, test scenarios, and coordinating system/UAT testing.
• QA Lead experience preferred.
• Experience in the insurance industry with strong life claims and FINEOS knowledge is highly preferred.
• Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience.
• Strong experience with ALM, ServiceNow, Jira, and related delivery tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills in fast‑paced environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, ALM, UFT, CFactory, Jira.
• Experience with test automation, Oracle environments, and TOAD considered assets.
• Understanding of PMBOK or software development methodologies beneficial.
