Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Alberta (Edmonton or Calgary Hybrid — one day onsite per week)
Type: Contract (12 Months)

The Position:
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support an enterprise initiative with a focus on FINEOS and insurance operations. This role includes gathering and documenting advanced business requirements, supporting design and development phases, and partnering with both business and technical teams to ensure project success.
What You'll Do:
Business Requirements & Analysis
- Consult with business users to gather and document complex requirements.
- Produce requirement documentation using use case modelling.
- Work closely with technical teams to provide business context during analysis and design.
Project Support & Coordination
- Partner with the Project Manager to plan and oversee analysis, design, development, and testing activities.
- Assist in creating test plans, scenarios, and specifications for UAT and system testing.
- Help manage project schedules, deadlines, and deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide regular status updates to the business sponsor and PM.
- Facilitate workshops, discussions, and requirement‑gathering sessions.
- Identify project or schedule issues and recommend solutions.
Documentation & Training Support
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required.
- Assist with the creation of end‑user training materials.
- Coordinate the work of additional business analysts when needed.
Mandatories:
- Completion of a software development–related technical diploma/degree.
- Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience.
- Demonstrated Business Analysis experience with FINEOS projects.
- Strong facilitation and requirement‑elicitation skills.
- Proficiency with UML (use cases, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams).
- Insurance industry experience with strong life claims and FINEOS knowledge highly preferred.
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban environments.
- Proficiency with ALM, ServiceNow, Jira.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, SQL Navigator.
- Ability to manage detail while maintaining a big‑picture perspective.
- Knowledge of PMBOK and SDLC methodologies beneficial.
