The Position:

Our client, a well-established construction and engineering company, is currently seeking a Structural Designer / Project Manager to join their team.

As a Structural Designer / Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of structural design projects from conception to completion. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and oversee structural design plans, specifications, and calculations for various construction projects
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction is in accordance with design plans
  • Communicate with clients to provide project updates and address any concerns or issues
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers and team members
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure designs are compliant and up to date
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies

Mandatories:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and project management
  • Strong knowledge of structural design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques
  • PMP certification is an asset

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Edmonton, AB, Canada. The successful candidate will work primarily in an office setting, but may also be required to visit construction sites as needed. Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
